Description

The Elcometer 456 Coating Thickness Gauge Probe Range includes various types of probes designed for specific applications:

Ferrous Probes (F): These probes are used to measure non-magnetic coatings on ferromagnetic substrates. They are compatible with Elcometer 456 ferrous gauges.
Non-Ferrous Probes (N): These probes are utilized to measure non-conductive coatings on non-ferrous metal substrates. They are compatible with Elcometer 456 non-ferrous gauges.
Dual FNF Probes: These probes are capable of measuring both ferrous and non-ferrous applications while automatically detecting the substrate type. They are compatible with Elcometer 456 FNF gauges.

In addition, the Elcometer probes have specific temperature ranges: normal Elcometer probes can operate up to 80°C (176°F), while separate ferrous probes can handle temperatures up to 150°C (300°F), and the Hi-Temperature PINIP™ probes can operate at temperatures up to 250°C (480°F). It's important to adjust the duty cycle of the probe to prevent excessive heat buildup within the probe based on the substrate temperature.
