Interpret measured zones of inhibition by reference to published tables of critical zone‑diameter breakpoints provided by appropriate authorities and classify the test isolate as Susceptible (S), Intermediate (I) or Resistant (R).
Suggested control strains and expected outcomes when tested according to standardised methods:
| Test Organism | Reference strain |
|---|---|
| Escherichia coli | ATCC® 25922 — correct susceptibility pattern per QC tables |
| Pseudomonas aeruginosa | ATCC® 27853 — correct susceptibility pattern per QC tables |
| Staphylococcus aureus | ATCC® 25923 — correct susceptibility pattern per QC tables |
